Contains a compilation of letters sent from Casper to his family during his military service. Provides deep insight into Casper's attitudes and moods during his training days. Letters show his enthusiasm for gunnery school and sharpshooting, his training in the top-secret Radar school, his aversion to mechanics, and his fierce pride in the Marine Corps. They touch on the support received from his family, his spiritual health, contact with other LDS servicemen, and missionary opportunities within his unit. Also includes letters of consolation, written by Casper's comrades, after his plan was declared lost on a bombing raid. Photographs show Casper in full military dress.
